Using FTP Programs

Possibly one of the most important aspects of running a site is being able to upload your files to the web. In the menu to the left we have provided you with instructions on how to upload your site using a number of different methods. These are as follows:

FTP - Generally the easiest and most popular options, if you aren't using one of the web-authoring programs below, then this is the one for you.

Dreamweaver - This is the web-authoring suite from Macromedia. Built into it is a site manager system where you can upload files from within the progam. If you are using Dreamweaver to build your site, then this method of uploading is best for you.

Frontpage - One of the more popular and easier to use software packages, Frontpage also allows you to upload your site from within the program.

File Manager - This is the web-based file manager that is included in your Plesk Control Panel. It is best for uploading single files or quickly changing permissions. We strongly recommend using FTP as an alternative.
