What happens if I do not renew my domain name on time?

A billing notification is sent 30 days prior to your domain's expiration date.

Approximately for the first 30 days after the expiration date, the domain is placed on Registrar-Hold status. This status follows ICANN polices for expired domains. If the renewal payment is not received within 7 days after the expiration date a $35 fee applies in order to renew your expired domain name.

If your domain name is currently in redemption status (IE: 30 days past the expiration date), we ask that you contact one of our Customer Service Representatives immediately to help you retrieve the domain. A $150 registry redemption fee and $35 renewal fee will apply in order to redeem your domain.

Example: yourdomain.com expires 1/1/2001
An invoice is sent on 12/1/2000
  • If the invoice is paid on or before 1/7/2001 you pay only the registration fee.
  • If the invoice is paid on 1/8/2001 you pay the registration fee and late fee.
  • If the invoice is paid on 2/1/2001 you pay the registration fee, late fee, and redemption fee.
